Time To Buckle Up As Cold fights Warm...

We will have several surges of cold air try to reach us this week.  However, the cold air won't linger as the warmth quickly returns.  The real chill won't arrive until next Sunday when we'll finally need the heavy coats.

The first front on Tuesday will cool us down a little, but it'll also bring us our best rain chances in weeks.

Even though lots of clouds are streaming across Texas, radars are not seeing much rain so far.

The main energy/storm track continues up north and that's where all the rain & snow is.  Note how Arctic cold air has moved into Montana with single digit temperatures. That real chill won't head our way until after the 15th of this month.

In the short term , Monday will stay Spring-like with highs near 80 and some showers developing during the afternoon.  With dew points approaching 70, might even hear a rumble of thunder?  Tuesday sees a brief cool down, but we warm right back up for Wednesday through Saturday.  A stronger cold front arrives late Saturday night.

Finally, one of the things south Louisiana rarely see is colorful Fall leaves.  These two pics are from my neighbor's yards on either side of me.   Not exactly New England Fall colors, but still rather pretty.  Stay tuned!
