Skies over SE LA/MS today were mostly sunny, but a weak upper system is moving just to our north with some clouds and showers. We don't expect rain here, but we do expect another morning of dense fog and NWS has a dense fog advisory beginning later tonight into Saturday morning.
You can see the main jet stream/storm track coming into the Pacific NW streaking across the northern Plains over the Great Lakes and then into the Northeast. North of that boundary it's feeling like Winter while across the southern states, it's more a Spring-like feel.
The front on the surface map to our north is not the one that will bring us our next rain chance. That front comes on Wednesday, but it's likely to stall out right over us. The front that will finally bring real colder air won't arrive until next Saturday night into Sunday, so expect the warmth to linger for another week.
I have been fishing for the past 2 days with Captain Hylton Petit. Since I talk about him, I thought I'd show you his big redfish he caught yesterday. Can anyone say...BLACKENED! Yummy! We caught a lot of throw back trout, 37 keepers, but it was a fun trip since the weather was so beautiful.. Stay tuned!
