Been Away, Missing Warmth...

Due to a family medical emergency, I have been on the road and unable to post.  It gave me a chance to see the Rockies again and all the new wind turbines that grace the plains of Colorado, Kansas & Oklahoma.

The main weather story this week is the huge invasion of Arctic air that will battle the Spring-like warmth over the Southeast.

A large upper disturbance along the West coast will move across the Rockies and into the Plains during the next 2 days.  This will trigger a variety of Winter weather making travel very difficult for many.

Since the upper energy is predicted to go far to our north, we will never get into the core of the Arctic air.

The huge temperature contrast either side of the front will fuel the widespread nasty weather over the next 2 day.  It's 5 degrees at Denver while Laredo is 95!  our dew points have jumped to near 70 indicating plenty of low level moisture is moving out of the Gulf.

Actually, parade weather doesn't look too bad with several exceptions.  It won't stay as warm as the next 2 days, but rain chance are limited.  Not sure when I can post again, but enjoy the warmth.  Stay tuned!

Hope all is well with your family in CO. Knew you were not out fishing given the persistent high winds.
