Magnificent Mardi Gras Coming...

After an ugly start with morning rain, this afternoon turned sunny & nice, a preview of what the next 2 days will be like.   A cold front has sagged off our coast and that should push any clouds down into the Gulf.

Satellite views indicate all is clear to our west and the rest of this week looks dry.

I'm not sure why the FOX 8 forecast has rain for Monday morning.  That obviously is a mistake.  All parades for Monday & Tuesday will not have to deal with any weather.  If anything, parade goers will have to deal with too much sunshine that could result in some bad sunburns unless you use sunscreen.

The Arctic airmass has really moderated under a higher sun angle as most of the nation is well above freezing.   Looking ahead, models are not showing any new invasion of Arctic air for the next 7-14 days.  That will get us into mid March making me feel very confident that we are done with any hard freeze threats for the South Shore.   Way too soon to be thinking tomato planting, but give it a couple more weeks and have at it.   Again, if you are going to be out in the sun Monday & Tuesday, don't forget the sunscreen!  Stay tuned!
