Change Of Seasons Usually Brings Severe Storms...

As we transition from the Arctic cold of Winter to the brutal heat of Summer, Spring (Mar-May) is often the battleground producing outbreaks of severe storms.  Today the battle zone is across Iowa, where SPC has a level 3 chance for bad storms.

The warm air sector has surged all the way to Chicago with 70+ warmth.   There's snow falling on the other side of the frontal boundary as the upper energy lifts out ahead of the main trough still over the western states.

As the western tough moves across the country, it will bring us a cold front that will remind us we're not done with cold weather.  In fact, the third week in March looks to be colder.

In the short term, the next 2 days will continue Spring-like with highs in the 80s.  We will have several opportunities to get some much needed rainfall next week.

We are not expecting severe storm here as the front plows through since the main energy is expected to stay farther to our north.

If winds stay up, dense fog should not be a problem over night.  Sunday looks like a perfect day to get out for a walk or a sail on Lake P.  Enjoy.  Stay tuned!
