SPC Issues Severe Outlooks, Our Threat Tuesday PM,,,

Gosh, today was near perfect for the Irish-Italian Parade with all day sunshine (many sunburns!) & ideal mid 70s temps with low humidity.  But all that's is about to change as increasing southerly winds will bring back the low level moisture and a potent upper disturbance near Las Vegas heads our way creating a significant severe weather potential for Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday.

SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has already put out their severe outlooks with a level 3 (Enhanced) for Texas on Monday and a level 4 (Moderate) for Louisiana & Mississippi.  Unlike last week's bust, this time the main energy will be on a course farther over the South.  We'll need to pay attention Tuesday afternoon into early on Wednesday.

Astronomical Spring arrived this morning at 10:22 AM and Monday will begin to feel more like Summer as increasing humidity coupled with temps near 80.  The surface high will shift east as low pressure develops over the Plains.

We still have low dew points in the 30s, but look over south Texas where Brownsville has jumped to 55.  Our dew points will soar to near 70 by Tuesday.

The weather will be tame on Monday except for increasing southerly winds.  Storms arrive late Tuesday.

I have an opportunity to fish with Captain Hylton ahead of the front tomorrow so I may not post until after the storms on Tuesday.  Make sure your FOX 8 Weather App is set to receive any severe weather warnings and trust the FOX 8 Weather Team to keep you safe.  Stay tuned!
