Waiting For Storms To Form...

After another near perfect day, things are about to change as a fast moving upper disturbance is expected to bring us a brief severe weather threat before daybreak.  SPC has a slight risk area in east Texas for early this evening with a lessor risk on Tuesday as the system races eastward.

All the real cold air is cut off up in Canada with no signs of it coming back for the next 7-10 days.

The timing on our next front has most of the rain beginning around 4 AM and exiting after 9 AM.   With sunshine returning for the PM, Tuesday should be another nice day after a wet start.

The low dew points (dry air) have retreated to our east as a surge of low level moisture is coming in off the Gulf.  I grabbed these graphics off of Bruce's 4 PM program on the timing of tomorrow morning's storms.

Some of the storms will bring heavy downpours, but the fast eastward movement should prevent any widespread flooding.

As you can see, the heaviest totals should be north of Lake P.  Brisk ESE winds will switch to the west behind the front tomorrow by late morning.

Another round of storms will be possible on Friday as our fast upper pattern will bring us rain threats every 3-4 days.  Astronomical Spring arrives on Sunday.  Stay tuned!
