The sunrise was outstanding, the fishing sporadic. Captain Johnny Lewis caught a nice keeper trout while Capt. Hylton Petit had a throwback. Bottom picture reveals how Hylton reacts when he catches a keeper (12"+) !
The clouds with this morning's cold front swept down to the coast leaving a sunny afternoon. Brisk north winds kept highs below normal. I grabbed these pics from David's 5 PM program.
Dew points in the 40s & 50s are moving our way and will result in cooler morning lows. But they won't last as warmer temps return for later this week. These graphics I grabbed from Zack Fradella at noon.
For the first weekend of Jazz Fest, it looks almost hot, more humid, but mostly dry.
The next two days will be delightful with low humidity, comfy cool morning lows with lots of sunshine as the upper trough over the eastern states drifts eastward.
It's still mighty chilly over the Great Lakes & Northeast where sweaters, jackets & heavy coats are required. You can see the warming trend to our west where Houston is 60+.
Gosh, to see and feel dew points in the 40s & 50s, I just hope you all appreciate this feel as we're about to enter 5+ months of brutal heat. Enjoy! Stay tuned!
