Severe Risk, Flood Threat Coming After Dark...

This is a quick midday update regarding our POTENTIAL for strong storms over night.  It appears we have all afternoon with no rain, unless you're on the far North Shore.  South of Lake P. there are many sunny breaks.

Look at the battle zone along the front to our west.  Most of the action remains from north Louisiana on up into Missouri & Illinois with a long stretch under tornado watches.

That is right where SPC has their highest risk (Level 4) for severe storms.  Note all of  south LA/MS is under a level 2 with level 3 & 4 farther to the north.

Along with heavy rains & high winds, lots of lightning is occurring.   Computer models have shifted the threat of heavy rains from the South Shore this morning with Zack to the North Shore & Mississippi Coast at noon with Bruce.

We all are under a Flood Watch through Thursday morning.   The greatest threat will come between 9 PM (far north) , 1-2 AM Metro NOLA and then 3-5 AM along the coasts.  I'll have another update before 5 PM.  Enjoy a quiet afternoon.  Stay tuned!
