Over Night Severe Threat Low, Hot, Dry Weekend

Yesterday's thinking hasn't changed much as an upper disturbance will bring us much needed rain chances between midnight and 9 AM.  SPC still brings a level 2 (slight) severe risk which will quickly shift to our east and south tomorrow PM.  That should make for a nice afternoon for the Jazz Fest.

The air behind the front is rather chilly (40s & 50s), but that chill will not come down to us.

At this time of the year, we're happy to just see less humid air.

Timing right now looks good that most of the rainfall will be gone before noontime leaving us with lots of sun for the weekend.

We will threaten some record highs during the next 5-7 days.  If we can get into the drier air, night time lows will be a little cooler.  And finally...

Satellite views are hinting at a weak rotation forming east of Florida.   The past few Mays have seen early named storms.  Could that trend continue?  Stay tuned!
