Rockies Disturbance Will Bring Widespread Severe Storms To Our North...

We are nearing the time of the year when fronts stop coming and our daily weather forecast calls for hot & humid with some spotty storms.  But we're not there yet as it appears a weak front will try to get close later this week.   The main energy coming out of the Rockies will stay well to our north, but a trailing cold front will increase rain chances here on Friday.

The satellite view has the upper disturbance over Utah with the next two graphics being the predicted movement of this storm.  The middle is valid for this afternoon with the bottom valid for Friday morning (arrow).   With that motion, SPC is projecting where the severe weather threat will be highest.

Wednesday it's in Oklahoma & north Texas.  The Thursday forecast moves it eastward clipping north Louisiana.  We'll have to pay attention to see if the Friday forecast moves it closer to us, especially north of Lake P.

As you can see, much of the nation, especially over the East had clouds and chilly temps.  That is expected to change for next week as a huge warm up arrives.  For us, we're already hot with the chance for our first 90+ coming this week or over the weekend.

If the Friday front reaches us with some showers, we could see some lower humidity over the weekend.  With sunshine that will result in a very hot Mother's Day.

Now if this front doesn't make it to us, just get out the rubber stamp and call it hot & humid with a spotty storm.  Ugh!  Stay tuned!
