The first radar view is from 2 PM when the storms fired on the South Shore. The bottom is from 4:30 when storms bubbled up over the North Shore & Mississippi coast. You can see the cooling from the rain.
So with an increase in our clouds and showers for the next several days, our June heat wave has come to an end. No it doesn't mean we're done with 90+ since our average daily high will be 90+ until late August. However, it should mean 5-8 degrees of being "less hot"!
Now for the Tropics. NHC has increased probabilities (60%) for development for the system out in the Atlantic. However, they now are highlighting an area over the NW Gulf for possible development.
We begin by looking at the Gulf that has some storms over the eastern Gulf, but nothing over the western Gulf.
IF anything does try to develop, it won't happen until next week & head inland into Texas. Out in the Atlantic, there is a low level swirl, but there are no storms around it. Models do nothing with it until it gets way into the southern Caribbean.
