Still No Bonnie, But Could Have TD In NW Gulf...

The Recon reports this morning regarding PTC # 2 reveal tropical storm force winds, but no closed low level circulation.  So our attention turns to the northern Gulf where satellite & radar views indicate a circulation is forming south of Lake Charles.   T=Storms remain limited, but shear is low & water temps high.

NHC has scheduled a recon plane for tomorrow morning.  Right now there is just a hint of low level rotation as radar views are not very impressive.  Wouldn't that be something if Bonnie is named in the Gulf before PTC # 2?   Regardless, it will bring a heavy rain threat to Texas & western LA for later this week.

Without much cloud cover and no showers around, temperatures are soaring toward 90 before the noon hour.   We hopefully can bubble up some storms this afternoon.

I'll have my usual update after 4 PM.  Stay tuned!
