Early Storms Keep Us Less Hot...

Unlike last month when many days saw no rain and few clouds resulting in highs 95-100, this month has seen more rain and temperatures closer to average/normal.  Our daily showers bubbled up before the noon hour giving some neighborhoods a good drenching.  Better still, the storms left a lingering cloud cover that kept temps mainly in the 80s.

As I mentioned yesterday, the upper high was weaken and shifting eastward.  The heat wave over the Northeast has been broken while it continues hot across Texas & Oklahoma.

Most of the country is enjoying cooling relief as fronts are starting to move out of Canada heading southward.  For us, it's a long way till September.

Can you imagine temps in the 70s with low humidity?   Patience Gang.  Maybe in another 6 weeks we'll see an early cold front?

So here is a useless 7 day forecast.    Plan on it being hot & humid with spotty daytime storms forming along the coast at daybreak & redeveloping inland during daytime heating.  The Tropics?

They remain quiet with none of the models developing anything for the next 10-14 days.  The middle pic shows the upper heat dome protecting us with several upper lows creating a very hostile environment.  I love the graphic I grabbed off Bay News 9 out of Tampa showing the Saharan Dust layer.  We all know August & September are coming with increased tropical activity.  The longer the dust lingers, the better for less activity.  Stay tuned!
