Grand Isle Gearing Up For Another Tarpon Rodeo...

The 2022 International Grand isle Tarpon Rodeo begins 10 days from today and Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee-Sheng is excited to be this year's first female President.  Cynthia believes the Island is ready for visitors again as the 2 major marinas on both ends of the island have been rebuilt & are fully operational.  What makes the rodeo special is you don't need a boat to fish as there is excellent fishing along the beach.  Need a boat?  Then you want to register as that gives you an opportunity to wind a bay boat with motor & trailer.

I'll have more on registration & costs tomorrow.    Your odds at winning the boat are way better than the lottery or Powerball.

There are still no signs that the tropics will get active until next month as the Atlantic, Caribbean & Gulf have few clouds.

A heat dome continues to bake the central part of the nation with 95-100+ temperatures from Canada down to the Gulf.  Dallas has reached day 24 of 100+. a long way from the record of 71 in 2011.

There continues an upper "shear zone"  across SE LA/MS that has been the focus for today's clouds and storms.

Where it's raining, temps are cooler.  But for most, it's the usual July heat.

Models are indicating the upper heat dome will shift over us by late this week.  Great, that's all we need to hear.  Hotter temps?!!!  Stay tuned!
