Tropics Remain Quiet...

Unless there is something going on in the Tropics, it's often hard to find something to talk about.  Oh for sure, we'll be hot & humid with some spotty storms.  The daily changes are subtle, often being different movement of showers, different locations or different timing (morning versus afternoon).  It's one reason that the 7 day becomes useless at this time of the year.   Let's begin with the Tropics.

The Atlantic continues dead with no model indicating any development for at least 7-10 days.  That is typical for July.   Activity will increase in August & September.  The Eastern Pacific has Tropical Storm (soon to be hurricane) Estelle heading out to sea.

The Caribbean is quiet with lots of shear while an upper shear zone is over the Gulf.   That is why shower movement is coming from the NE to SW.

The upper heat dome is forecasted to expand back over us for next week meaning fewer daytime storms and hotter highs.

The next 3 weeks are, climatologically, the hottest part of summer.

Storms are just starting to fire.  My yard needs a good soaking.  Without clouds & storms, our temps are back 90+.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Stay tuned!
