Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee-Sheng is this year's Rodeo President and invites all fishermen & women to come down and see if you can catch the big one. Registration also gets you the opportunity to win a 19 foot bay boat, motor & trailer. Fishing begins at daybreak on Thursday and ends at 6 pm on Saturday. The awards ceremony is at 8 PM under the pavilion on the east end of the island. Hope to see you there.
The weather looks to be basic summer-time all this week as the heat dome shifts out of the west and heads to the east. We might see less shower coverage Sunday through Wednesday before a surge of tropical moisture moves in for later in the week. The good news is the Tropics continue quiet with nothing likely until we get well into August.
Today began with showers along the coast that redeveloped inland during daytime heating. Movement was slowly from the SSW to the NNE . The only difference was in the location of the storms.
Miss the clouds & storms, you get very hot (90-95). Get lucky and wet, you drop into the 70s & 80s. Only a slight increase in rain chances will happen as we head into next week.
