History (Alicia 1983) has shown we sometimes need to focus closer in for tropical development as old frontal boundaries sag down into the northern Gulf. Lots of "disturbed weather" continues from the Carolinas westward towards Texas.
I've found many weak swirls on satellite and radar loops with all of them over land. It wouldn't take much of a drift to the south to place the circulation over the warm Gulf waters. Models indicate nothing happening and NHC hasn't highlighted any area to watch. One thing I noticed is all the recent rains have cooled down the waters of the northern Gulf somewhat.
Another thing I'm seeing is cold fronts coming out of Canada. The heat wave over the Northeast has been broken as cooler and drier air brings welcomed relief to them. It's getting colder over northern Canada.
To partly borrow from the Beach Boys, wouldn't it be nice to see some early Fall cold fronts?
Today is the 21st straight day below our normal/average high of 82. My rain gage recorded 1.91" making 4.42" in the last 3 days. We are less hot because of all the clouds and rain. That should continue through Saturday before we may dry out some into next week. That would bring us back into the real heat for awhile. Stay tuned!

I think you mean "normal/average high of 92."
