There are two other swirls, but neither has any storms with them, NHC is highlighting an area for possible develop next week as another wave moves off of Africa. Model just don't develop anything for the next 10-14 days and that takes us into the last week in September. I hope our dream continues!
Closer to home, the Caribbean remains quiet with a complex upper trough sitting over the Gulf. We are basically on the dry side with most of the storms drenching the Florida beaches. Our focus now shifts to a weak front that will slowly bring us drier air for next week.
It's quite chilly behind the front in the clouds and light rain. This front will run out of upper support so that chill will not get here.
In the short term, we'll see a few spotty storms, but with more sunshine expect highs near 90.
Before I leave, look at these satellite views. The first shows "cold air damming" over the Front Range.
I'm watching the Colorado vs Air Force game in Colorado Springs where it's in the 40s with light rain. Burrr! But look on the other side of the Continental Divide. Grand Junction is in the 80s with bright sunshine. But there's more Lee Zurik!
The remains pf Hurricane Kay are bringing some shower to California. However, look to the north in Oregon & Washington where huge fires are burning with their smoke plumes tailing into the Pacific. Even Idaho has many fires burning. They want their rainy season to begin ASAP! And we want our Hurricane Season to keep snoozing! Stay tuned!
