Best Rain Chances In Months Saturday Morning, Some Strong Storms possible...

Two days ago I mentioned a western storm that could become a Southern soaker and that is what is happening across Texas today.  Much needed rainfall is rotating around a well defined upper low west of Dallas.  This is the same system that brought snow to the Rockies.

Clear skies allowed us to see the snowfall over Colorado & Utah where they also need all the moisture they can get.  Hopefully, this signals a great start to their snow season?

The main upper low is back over Texas, but there appears to be another feature just off the Louisiana coast.  That feature is skirting to our south and we'll have to wait until the main event arrives Saturday morning.   Here's the timing.

The NWS forecast is the top graphic, but I like what Zack Fradella showed us on his noon program.  More importantly, the computer model has 1-2"+  possible across much of metro NOLA.  Same for the Mississippi Gulf coast.

With the real Arctic cold bottled up over Canada, we're watching a Pacific cold front that should sweep through by Saturday PM.  You can see the small wedge of higher (60+) dew points along the Gulf coast and that should limit any severe & heavy rain threats.

Halloween still looks dry & nice for the kids trick or treating.  Finally...

NHC is watching for Lisa & Martin somewhere far away from us. So nice to no longer be our concern as the cold fronts keep coming.  Those fronts have really turned on the colors up north.

My dear friends Carolee & Steve Miller sent these views while in Virginia last week.  If you go on a trip & see neat stuff, sent them to me (bbreck@fox8live.com so I can share on my blog.  Stay tuned!
