As the upper low drifts to the NE and weakens, slightly cooler and drier air will filter in for Sunday and Monday. The severe threat for us is over , but not for those east of the Pearl River.
The main jet stream is over the Pacific NW going across southern Canada. This is keeping the super cold (below zero) air farther to the north bottled up. I see no signs of that chill coming our way during the next 2 weeks.
In the short term, clearing skies should make for a delightful Sunday and Monday before a new shower threat comes late on Tuesday.
We did briefly get into the higher dew points (70+), but drier air is filtering in from our west.
The next system coming on Tuesday will not be as strong as today's and you can see we warm up again later next week. Those of you wanting sweater weather will have to wait a little longer. Finally...
NHC is still watching for tropical development. The best swirl is well east of the Carolina coast, but it should be hindered by an approaching cold front. Farther to the south, the area over the Caribbean remains disorganized. Enjoy a Saint's win ( Saints 31 Raiders 24) tomorrow. Who Dat! Stay tuned!
