Two Hurricanes, But Zero U.S. Impacts...

The Tropics are showing no signs of quitting as we have Hurricane Martin way out in the Atlantic and Hurricane Lisa making landfall in Belize.   Both have 85 mph max winds making them Cat. 1 storms.  Since Martin is going away from land, we'll focus on Lisa.

Hurricane Liza made landfall just south of Belize City and should quickly weaken overnight.  NHC track brings her back over the Gulf on Friday but models don't bring her to the north where water temps are much cooler.  Some of her moisture could be drawn up our way ahead of a weak cold front on Saturday.  That front is likely to stall near us bringing a rain threat but little cooler air.

The super cold is building up north and a digging upper trough over the west is making it feel Winter-like with heavy mountain snows.  Ahead of the trough is surging warm air that has Minneapolis & Green Bay in the 70s.

As the upper trough shifts to the east over the weekend, so too will the colder air.  We won't see the real chill until sometime later NEXT week.

There are some clouds along the upper Texas coastline with a few showers, but we are not expecting any rain until Saturday afternoon ahead of the next weak front.  That front will either stall near us or dissipate since the upper flow from the SW will slow any forward/eastward progress.  It could result in a very wet Tiger Stadium.

I am not real confident in next week's forecast as NHC is hinting Nicole could form east of Florida.

IF that does happen, the circulation around her would keep us with NNE surface winds which generally mean dry conditions.  Don't bet the house on that happening since there is nothing there yet.  I'll close with these views.

The top two are Shell Beach sunrises from my fishing trip this week.  That's Mother Nature at her finest.  The bottom pic is the 4th hole at Chateau today.  I missed the green to the right and had to chip back on.  However, as I was going to chip, Ron Swoboda, my golfing partner stopped me and said wait for the geese.  If you have good eyes, there are 17 Canadian geese (Honkers) marching in a line following their leader.  I waited for them to pass, chipped on and 2 putted for a bogey.  On the next tee box, they flew above us, circled back and buzzed us again.   Gotta love Mother Nature.  Stay tuned!
