Daytime Clouds Really Make A Difference...

I was golfing this morning with the Marvelous one (Marvin Bernstein) & we both commented ..."yeah it's warm & sticky, but we're not in meltdown like last week."  What was the difference?  Remember last week had the upper heat dome over us preventing any rain & very few clouds to develop.  Due clouds make a difference?  Let me show you.

I've been posting about this deeper tropical moisture surge rotating around the Bermuda High/Atlantic Ridge.  Dallas is in sunshine and 95-100, but look towards south Texas.  Houston is in the lower 70s! Well, we had clouds over us through about 2 pm and it definitely was less hot UNTIL the past 2 hours.

Skies have cleared and temps have soared back into the lower 90s.  We need the daily clouds & storms to keep us from melting down every day.  The heat dome has reformed out west with a bunch of small upper disturbances from the Rockies to the East coast.  The question for us is will the tropical moisture surge bring us more cooling clouds and showers tomorrow?

Certainly no cold front is coming so we need those daily storms.  We're not the only ones suffering in heat & humidity.  Boston is 90 with a 70 dew point.  That makes them feel like us!  No major changes are coming through the weekend as the 7 day often is useless in the summertime.

The Tropical Atlantic remains quiet as no model shows development during the next 7-10 days.   Modes do indicate the Eastern Pacific is about to get real active and that's good for us.  Keep them out 'dere!

So since nothing is happening in the Tropics, I'm probably not going to post for several days.

Finally, 3 weeks from today the Grand Isle International Tarpon Rodeo begins.  New this year is the opportunity to win cash prizes for just registering.  $1,000 drawings will be held Thursday & Friday nights with the grand prize winner ($10,000!) being chosen at the awards ceremony Saturday night.  Don't fish, no problem.  Just register & you'll have the opportunity to win cash.  I'll be posting more about the Rodeo in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned!
