Coldest Weather In 5 Months, Get Sweaters & Jackets Ready!!!

I've mentioned this quote before, but here it is again.  "Only when you've been in the deepest, darkest valley (summer extreme heat) can you truly appreciate how glorious it is on the mountaintop!"  The last time we failed to reach 80 degrees for our high was back on May 6th.  Get ready for some 70s Gang! A deepening upper low over the Great Lakes is bringing the Canadian chill into the lower 48.  Take a look.

If this happens during December through February, we'll see freezing temps down to the Gulf coast.  Dare I say "snow potential"  He-He, let's not get carried away.  I mentioned the chill will come in several waves/surges later tonight into Sunday.''

Dew points in the 20s & 30s (very dry air) are heading our way for this weekend.

As you can see, the 7 day does have higher rain chances coming for later next week.  That will be ahead of another, stronger cold front mixing in with tropical moisture.  With strong, shearing upper winds, I'm not concerned with any development in the Gulf.  However, one model (Canadian) does form something off the Louisiana coast NEXT Thursday. None of the others do that.

What we do need is rain and hopefully we'll get that without any tropical threat.  Chilly this weekend, but even colder next weekend.  Finally...

Thank all of you for wishing me a happy B-day.  Your comments are humbling, but greatly appreciated.  I have noticed in the comments, some evil folks are posting links to click on for stuff that has NOTHING to do with weather.  NEVER click on one of these links.  Enjoy your weekend & stay tuned!
