Get Ready To Party Grand Isle, Tropics Staying Quiet

Since 1928, the last weekend in July has been reserved for the International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo.  This year our President is Lafourche District Attorney Kristine Russell.  Historically, the Rodeo was an "all boys club" until Jefferson parish President Cynthia Lee-Sheng became our first woman President in 2022.  Kristine follows her with the goal of encouraging more women to join the guys.  Fathers take their sons fishing, so why not Mothers taking daughters fishing? The Rodeo starts on July 25th and concludes with the awards ceremony July 27th.

The Tarpon Rodeo is a FAMILY fun time with daily crab races so why not plan to come pass a good time?  Go to www.tarponrodeo.org for more info.  The $50 registration fee includes the chance to win $10,000!  None of the computer models have development during the next 10-14 days.

There is one small area that has a slim chance to develop, but an upper low is creating strong shear that should limit anything forming. Otherwise, our weather is basic July.

Since the remains of Beryl are gone, the big weather story nationwide is the heat dome that has settled over the Western states.

There is a huge difference from our heat as dew points are much lower.  Still 113 in Las Vegas is record heat!

Some heavy storms were around again today.  My house received 2.29" bringing my July total to 8.62".

I like the phrase Amber Wheeler uses.  The seven day is called "rinse & repeat"!  Stay tuned!
