Many Tropical Lows, None Are Developing

I'm posting today grasping at straws trying to find something interesting to talk about.  I love to look at satellite loops to find features BEFORE NHC starts talking about them.  And I've found many, many swirls that could erupt, but something is keeping that from happening.  The Heat Dome is slowly shifting to our north and east allowing for the obvious upper spin over the Gulf to drift westward.  We should get on the wetter side for Sunday.  But there's more!

I've found 2 swirls east of Jacksonville, another SE of Miami with yet another over the southern Caribbean heading for central America.  None of the models develop any of them and NHC isn't talking about them either.  The rest of the Tropics continue dead.

When is the last time you can remember the end of August with no tropical activity anywhere? Understand, I'm not complaining!

The few showers haven't helped to keep temps down much, but compared to last August (12 days above 100!) 2024 is doable.  We need some soakers and Sunday could see just that.

So let's head through this last week of August into the Labor Day weekend with no tropical threats. I don't care why it's quiet, but whatever it is, keep it going!  Stay Tuned!  And time to Who Dat on FOX 8 Sunday at 1 PM.
