Melissa Will Be Named, Weak Front Coming This Weekend

As I mentioned the other day with the singing of "turn out the lights", our hurricane season is over for the NORTHERN Gulf coasts from Alabama westward to Texas.  It does NOT mean the season is over as NHC will name Melissa, perhaps as soon as tomorrow.  No need to worry as their two areas to watch are not around us.

The more likely system is the one over the north Atlantic and it would be subtropical.

The bottom view is the other possibility for Melissa.  Both Euro & GFS bring this into the Caribbean next week and develop it. The Euro is on top and farther to the west.

Neither model brings this system into the Gulf.

Currently, the Gulf & Caribbean are quiet.  We should not worry about the Tropics as cold fronts are coming again.

The next one arrives during the day on Sunday with very little cooler air, but it will be much drier behind it.

In fact, next week looks beautiful.  I probably won't do another podcast until next week when I'll explain why all storms have turned to the north this year and not come into the Gulf.  Sign up for my podcast at bobbreck.com.  Enjoy your weekend and stay tuned!
