Waiting On Melissa, Front Bringing Us Some Rain Overnight

As we head into the final 12 days of October, the Tropics remain active out in the Atlantic.  But the Caribbean continues zero for 2025.  If you believe most models, the next named storm (Melissa) will happen next week in the Caribbean.  Since cold fronts are coming again, we will be protected from any system that tries to get into the Gulf.  Here's today's setup.

It appears the system over the northern Atlantic will not be Melissa as NHC is now focused on the wave approaching the Caribbean. They have given it an Invest 98 L designation, allowing models to run.

Like most storms this year, Invest 98 L should not bother the United States.

Currently, the Gulf and Caribbean are quiet as a cold front approaches Louisiana from the north.

Most of the rains will come tonight and end early on Sunday, making for a very nice weekend.

The front that comes later next week has colder air coming behind it.  It will bring us our first sweater weather since last April & May.  Hate to do this, but tomorrow Da Bears will outlast out Saints 21-17.  Stay tuned!  Next podcast coming early next week.
