Huge Warm Up, AM Fog Issues, Joy Of Living Alone

One of the reasons I have chosen to retire in New Orleans is I hate the cold of Winter.  I don't mind an occasional snow, but I hate weeks and sometimes months of below freezing temperatures.  The upper trough that brought us the recent cold has retreated back up into Canada.  That has taken the below freezing air away from us.

Some of the Lake Effect snows in NW Indiana can still be seen on satellite view, but it will quickly melt as temps there are in the 50s.  An upper ridge is building across the country resulting in a remarkable warm up. The light green arrows show the return Gulf flow of moisture.

The upper trough has returned to the West coast where California braces for rounds of heavy rains the next several days.  80s have returned to south Texas and we'll be flirting with them this weekend.

Our dew points have soared back to 50+ and that probably means many mornings of dense fog for the rest of this week.

The FOX 8 seven day has yet to update so if you want to see the latest, watch their forecast at 4 & 5 PM.  Finally, tomorrow is the next Bob Breck Podcast featuring Bruce Katz.

You have to subscribe for $2/month to see & hear the Katz story at bobbreck.com.  If you are an AARP member, thought this months feature article was appropriate for my current stage of life.

I have always been a people person and the last 7 1/2 months have been difficult for me.  However, being alone has taught me not to be dependent on anyone except myself.  Only Bob can make Bob happy and I will.  I have several exciting projects coming in 2026 and will share them with you down the road.  Right now, it does not include a companion, but that will hopefully change!  Stay tuned!
